Before embarking on our crossbreeding endeavor, we visited renowned cross-breeders in Portugal and spoke with GP riders who have trained these horses. They all affirmed that the unique "loyal Iberian mind" that distinguishes Iberian horses from other breeds, is still noticeable in the F1, the first crossbred generation, and even in the F2, the second generation. The offspring often possess the fantastic blend of good ridability, trainability, moving upwardly (Iberian) and forwardly (warmbloods), with a warmblood-like appearance. They tend to have a slightly shorter back, making them easier to collect. There is only a very limited number of crossbreds in Europe, and most are still maturing; we believe they will gain popularity among ambitious amateur riders and those seeking a secure, gorgeous, and comfortable riding experience. We have documented many of our conversations with breeders. They can be listened to on the Horse Heroes podcast on Spotify. (Click image)

Among the modest number of crossbreds throughout Europe, several have already reached prominent arenas. In 2023, Hit Plus placed 5th at CDI4 in Aachen, Addict de Massa claimed victory in the Kur to Music at the World Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo, and James Bond de Massa alongside Ultra Blue de Massa were chosen for the European Championships in Riesenbeck. Although it's premature to draw conclusions, the crossbreds' cooperative nature and trainability appear to contribute to this statistically significant success.
