1.For every deal involving our Stud Farm, standard EU regulations reign supreme.

2. For the breeding services for the Lusitano stallion Gallito, the following rules apply:

Covering the stallion Gallito 2024

These conditions apply to agreements between Stoeterij de Hoge Ginkel as stallion owner and the owner or representative of a mare, concerning the purchase of a mating and the supply of semen.

Definitions:

Mare owner: The owner/representative of the mare.

Covering Agreement: The agreement between Stoeterij de Hoge Ginkel and the mare owner, regarding payment and delivery of frozen sperm.

Empty mare: mare that has not become pregnant at the end of the season.

Stud fee: cost of the sperm that is delivered. Stud fee is 850 euros excluding VAT.

Fixed costs: Costs incurred for semen collection, examinations, transport stallion etc. These fixed costs are due at all times.

Transport costs: Costs for shipment of semen by courier. All transportation costs for delivery are for the mare owner.

Delivery shipping of frozen sperm, after written order and deposit 250 euro (ex VAT) fixed costs.

Mating conditions

- Gallito delivers frozen sperm.

- The mare owner has read and agreed to the payment and general conditions.

- The mating season starts in March and ends in October 2022.

- The mare owner informs Stoeterij De Hoge Ginkel when the mare is/is not in foal.

- If the mare is sold during the breeding season, ex-mare owner remains obliged to pay the stud fee at all times.

- Issuance of the stud certificate and transfer to the respective breeding organization, only takes place when all costs have been paid.

- Stud farm de Hoge Ginkel cooperates with Holstud and Hippo expres. They naturally strive for timely delivery of the semen. In unforeseen circumstances, we can bear no liability for late delivery. A solution will of course be sought.

Ordering and shipping procedure

- Before delivery of sperm, the 250 euro fixed costs must be paid. You will receive an invoice and digital payment request.

- Frozen semen can be ordered at any time. There are 10 straws delivered per mating for the stud fee.

Stud fee Part 1

Fixed costs 250 euro, payable in advance. You will receive 10 straws.

Remaining costs, Part 2:

600 euro (ex VAT) in October after certified pregnancy.

Non fertilised declarations from officially recognised veterinarians must be submitted by October 1, 2024 at the latest. Only then the payment obligation expires.

Courier transport costs are always the responsibility of the mare owner.

Frozen semen

Unused straws remain the property of Stoeterij De Hoge Ginkel. It may not be passed on to third parties or used for other mares. If you would want to do so, first inform us and we will formalise the covering and foal registration.

Frozen sperm may only be used for artificial insemination.
